Hobbies

Abilities

Specialty: exorcisms (ghosts, hauntings), conversing with ghosts, absorbing dead spirits and curses

They are able to make gates/enter the spirit realm through the Sanzu Riverbanks, which most living humans, even powerful exorcists, can't tolerate (breathing the air there is mildly toxic)

They take on exorcisms of curses and ghosts using their own powers against them. Because they deal so heavily with dead spirits, even converse with them, the techniques they use are generally met with disapproval in their line of work. Their familiars are the spirits of fish, primarily goldfish and koi. Supposedly, some of these spirits have swam up the Sanzu River and become ghost dragons.

When in need of a weapon, they can manifest a massive oni club they obtained by defeating (several) oni during a trip to Yomi in preparation for Ibuki's revival. Covered in jagged chunks of unrefined metal and bone, it's unavoidably messy and although it's been charmed to weigh less, it's still difficult for Junna to weild because of its size and is only used as a last resort.

Values

Politics: lowkey anarchist
Religion: a mix of Shinto, shamanism/folk religions, and death deity worship
General Philosophy: categorizing things is pointless, work smarter not harder

Relationships

Isshiki Ibuki
The person they cared about the most. The became friends almost immediately after meeting while studying at Doikawa Jinja.

Izanami
They briefly met Izanami on their first trip to Yomi just to investigate. Despite going on a rampage through the underworld on their next visit, Izanami does not regard them poorly, and is one of the only people Junna shows respect to. Junna wishes to build a positive relationship with Izanami as they don't think death is something to be feared; although they do show respect and deference to her, they express it in unorthodox ways such as offering her convenience store tea and snacks.

Hachikuji Family/Benihime Inari Shrine
The entire Hachikuji family has been friends with Junna since childhood. They spent some of their early years studying Shinto and exorcism techniques there, learning from onmyouji Hachikuji and his wife, the head priestes at Benihime Inari-jinja. Through them, Junna also befriended the shrines namesake fox spirit and Kajiyashiki Kei, Hachikuji's underclassman. Junna is responsible for exorcising the spirit that killed the Hachikuji parents. In the present day, Nana is still one of their closest friends and confidants.

Doikawa Shrine
Junna studied at Doikawa Shrine during their school years.

Nuan
Despite their first impressions of each other being terrible, many years in the future, things are different. After thinking on it a while and regaining their confidence and enjoyment of life, Junna decides to cultivate to immortality and pursue Nuan romantically.
